Specialist Cutting

Our projects regularly require the use of diamond cutting techniques when severing structures where noise and vibration is of concern (see work at Great Ormond Street Hospital and Aviation House). Other techniques employed include stitch drilling, saw cutting, wire cutting and bursting.

In addition to the specialist attachments for our conventional excavator plant, we also utilise remote controlled plant (Brokks) where there is significant risk of personnel exposure to hazardous materials or falls. This has been proved essential on a range of structures from bank vaults to nuclear decommissioning.

We are also experienced in other cutting techniques including water jet cutting, where control of water is a major concern, and the use of thermic lances with which the potential of fire hazards and of fumes have to be controlled.
