Rowan Court

Demolition of 20-storey tower block (CAMUS system design) by controlled “implosion”, this project was within a sensitive high-density environment requiring close liaison with Police and other emergency services.

The works involved extensive asbestos removal and soft-strip followed by preparation for the “implosion”.  A rigid preparation timetable was set and all works were completed with one week to spare.  On “implosion” the collapse was successfully designed to maximize break-up of debris whilst minimizing its spread.  This “implosion” was completed without complication or damage to Third Parties. Post - “implosion” the debris was crushed and cleared in a controlled manner as were the oversite slabs, footings and miscellaneous surrounding shops and structures.

Throughout the works we exceeded Hackney’s local employment / recruitment target and indeed several staff / operatives recruited on Rowan Court have continued training and employment with us.
