Industrial Demolition

Industrial demolition is another area of our expertise.

Our project on the BP Oil Refinery at Grangemouth in Scotland being a perfect example. Here we demonstrated our problem solving ability on a large scale by devising and patenting an innovative Heavy Vessel Lifting Girdle.

Health and Safety is paramount in industrial sites - whether they be Nuclear related, in Petrochemical or Power Station sites. This is a fact that is not lost on us and drives our on-going commitment to improve our already high standards at all times.

Similarly, our work at several RAF and USAF air bases such as at RAF Mildenhall required unique action. In this case at Mildenhall it involved the demolition and removal from site of six 14,000 gallon fuel tanks which had to be purged and cleaned before removal. Other examples of industrial demolition are the demolition and clearance of the Concorde test building for DRA Farnborough, the removal of printing presses at Carmelite House and recent works at Battersea Power Station.

Some industrial projects, such a the dewatering, desludging and demolition of the Gasholder at Maidstione can involve interfaces with other parties - in this instance the gasholder was dismantled using craneage immediately adjacent to the Railway, bringing with it its own set of Rules, Regulations and Procedures that we are obliged to comply with.
