Asbestos Removal from Service Tunnels - Brunel University

Decontamination and asbestos removal works within the network of underground service tunnels located throughout the university campus.

Works included the careful de-lagging of live and redundant pipework, 'cut and wrap' techniques, fine cleaning of retained services, cleaning of tunnel structures (walls, ceilings, floors etc.), and environmental cleaning.

Additionally, extensive dewatering was carried out to allow the works to be undertaken and to facilitate the final clearance being granted by the client's analysts.

Permanent masonry segregation walls were constructed at specific tunnel intersections and link ways to further assist in cross contamination and water ingress.

All works undertaken as 'confined space entry' only.
